The St. Joseph Vaz Educational Society, Panjim, Goa, has issued an official recruitment advertisement inviting applications from eligible Indian citizens for the post of Principal at St. Joseph Vaz College, located at Cortalim in Goa. The position is offered on a full-time regular basis under the Grant-in-Aid category.
St. Joseph Vaz College is affiliated with Goa University and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Eligibility Criteria

Secondly, applicants must hold the position of Professor or Associate Professor and should have a minimum of fifteen years of teaching or research experience in universities, colleges, or other institutions of higher education.
In addition to the required teaching and research experience, candidates must have a minimum of ten research publications in peer-reviewed journals. These journals must be approved by Goa University from time to time or must be listed under the approved journals of the University Grants Commission.
Out of the total research publications required, at least two publications must be indexed in Scopus or Web of Science journals, which are internationally recognized research indexing platforms.
Furthermore, candidates must possess a minimum research score of 110, calculated according to Appendix II, Table 2 of Goa University Statute SC-16. Candidates must also fulfill the minimum qualifications and other requirements prescribed by Goa University Statutes SC-16.4.
Tenure of Appointment
The selected candidate will be appointed as the College Principal for a period of five years. The appointment may be extended for another term of five years depending on the performance assessment conducted by a committee appointed by the university. The committee will be constituted according to the statutes of Goa University.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must also satisfy certain essential conditions mentioned in the recruitment notification.
Knowledge of the Konkani language is mandatory for the candidate. Additionally, knowledge of Marathi language will be considered desirable.
Another important requirement is that the applicant must possess a fifteen-year residence certificate in Goa, which should be issued by the competent authority.
Pay Scale and Service Conditions
The scale of pay for the post of Principal will be as prescribed by the University Grants Commission, Goa University, and the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Goa, from time to time.
Similarly, the service conditions for the selected candidate will also be governed by the rules and regulations framed by the University Grants Commission, Goa University, the Directorate of Higher Education of the Government of Goa, the St. Joseph Vaz Educational Society, and other competent authorities as applicable.
