The Directorate of Forensic Sciences, Department of Home, Government of Goa has invited applications from eligible candidates for multiple posts on a contractual basis for a period of one year or till the regular posts are filled.

π§ͺ Scientific Officer (SOC)
Posts: 06
Salary: ₹59,100/month
Eligibility:
- Master of Science with specialization in Forensic Science/ Chemistry/ Zoology/ Microbiology/ Genetics /Biotechnology/ Physics with at least second class from a recognized University.
- Should possess at least 02 years practical experience in relevant field (laboratory/ crime scene visit) from State/Central Forensic Science Laboratory.
- Knowledge of Konkani.
- Note: In case of non availability of suitable candidates with knowledge of Konkani for the post, the Departmental Selection Committee may recommend a candidate if otherwise found fit and this requirement can be relaxed by the Government, on the recommendation of the Departmental Selection Committee, if the Government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do.
- Knowledge of Computer
- Physical Standards:
- (i) Must be physically fit to perform duty in the relevant field.
- (ii) Must have the following standard of distant/near vision with/without glasses.
Note:- Each eye must have full field of vision. Candidates with unioccular vision, amblyopia, colour blindness, squint or any morbid conditions of the eyes or lids of either eye and perforated ear drum, shall be deemed to be disqualified.
Desirable:
(i) Doctorate Degree in Science in relevant field from a recognized University.
(ii) Knowledge of Marathi.

Salary: ₹38,000/month
Eligibility:
- Master of Science with specialization in Forensic Science/ Chemistry/ Zoology/ Microbiology/ Genetics /Biotechnology/ Physics with at least second class from a recognized University.
- Should possess research/analytical experience in any forensic science laboratory/research institution.
- Knowledge of Computer.
- Knowledge of Konkani.

- One year practical experience as a Photographer in a reputed photo studio or concern of repute. failing which
- (1) Secondary School Certificate from a recognized University or equivalent.
- (2) Six months certificate Course in Photography.
- (3) Three years experience as a Photographer in a reputed photo studio or concern of repute.
- (4) Knowledge of Konkani.
- (5)Physical Standards: (i) Must be physically fit to perform duty in the relevant field.
- Desirable: (i) Knowledge of Marathi.

Eligibility:
- (1) Secondary School Certificate from a recognized University or equivalent.
- (2) Diploma in Photography from a recognized Institute or University or equivalent.
- (3) One year practical experience as a videographer in a reputed photo studio or concern of repute. failing which
- (1) Secondary School Certificate from a recognized University or equivalent.
- (2) Six months certificate Course in Photography.
- (3) Three years experience as a videographer in a reputed photo studio or concern of repute.
- (4) Knowledge of Konkani.
- (5)Physical Standards: (i) Must be physically fit to perform duty in the relevant field.
- Desirable: (i) Knowledge of Marathi.
π§Ύ Job Responsibilities
Scientific Officer
- To visit crime scenes in the State of Goa (24x7) at any given point of time, irrespective of Saturdays, Sundays & holidays.
- To oversee the operations of forensic team, assign, review, and evaluate the work of scientific staff and technicians.
- To ensure accuracy and reliability of forensic analyses, maintaining quality assurance and adherence to established protocols.
- To prepare the reports and documentation of crime scene visit. To depose in the Court of Law as Expert witness.
- Any other work given by the superiors.
- Overall to ensure that forensic operations are conducted efficiently, accurately, and ethically, while also managing the personnel involved.
Scientific Assistant (SOC)–
- To visit crime scenes in the State of Goa (24x7)
any given point of time, irrespective of Saturdays, Sundays & holidays. To
assist Scientific Officer (SOC) in collection of forensic evidence from the scene
of crimes.
- To ensure accuracy and reliability of forensic analyses, maintaining
quality assurance and adherence to established protocols.
- To assist Scientific
Officer (SOC) to prepare the reports and documentation of crime scene visit.
- To
depose in the Court of Law as witness.
- Any other work given by the superiors.
Photographer
- To visit crime scenes in the State of Goa (24x7) at any given point of time, irrespective of Saturdays, Sundays & holidays.
- To carry out photography work at scene of crime.
- To depose in the Court of Law as witness.
- Any other work given by the superiors.
Videographer
- To visit crime scenes in the State of Goa (24x7) at any given
point of time, irrespective of Saturdays, Sundays & holidays.
- To carry out
videography work at scene of crime.
- To depose in the Court of Law as witness.
- Any other work given by the superiors.
