ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (CCARI) Goa Recruitment 2026 – Young Professional & Senior Research Fellow Vacancies

The ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-CCARI), Ela, Old Goa, has released a recruitment notification inviting eligible candidates to appear for the selection process for various project-based positions. These appointments are purely temporary and will be made under different research projects being implemented by the institute.

The recruitment includes vacancies for Young Professional-II, Young Professional-I, and Senior Research Fellow (SRF) across different agricultural and livestock research projects. 1. Young Professional-II

Project

National Agricultural Innovation Fund (NAIF), Component-II (ABI)

Monthly Salary

₹42,000 per month (Fixed)

Age Limit

Minimum: 21 years

Maximum: 45 years

Age relaxation will be applicable as per Government Rules.

Project Duration

Up to 31 March 2027 or till completion of the project, whichever is earlier.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess a Graduate Degree in any one of the following disciplines:

  • Agriculture
  • Horticulture
  • Agricultural Engineering
  • Veterinary Science
  • Animal Sciences
  • Dairy Science
  • Fisheries Science

Desirable Qualification

Preference will be given to candidates having:

  • Master's Degree in Agriculture Management
  • Agricultural Economics

Candidates having experience in business planning, commercialization, startup incubation, market research or entrepreneurship development will also receive preference.

Nature of Work

Selected candidates will assist in:

  • Business incubation activities.
  • Product development.

a)Assist the Principal Investigator (PI) and CoPrincipal Investigator (CoPIs) in operating aBI's AGNI Food Hubs I and II, including product development evaluation, and related activities. b) Support business planning technology commercialization and market research activities. c)Effective use of virtual meeting and social- media platforms, and organizing training programme and business meeting to reach prospective entrepreneurs 
d)Assist in incubation and graduation of startups including helping entrepreneurs prepare or refine business plans & market their products. 
e) Manage the day-to -day operations of agri-business incubator (ABI) centre and undertake other general tasks related to ABІ 

2. Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

Technology Demonstration Component – National Innovations in Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA)

₹37,000 per month + HRA (First & Second Year)

₹42,000 per month + HRA (Third Year)

Age Limit

35 years for men

40 years for women

Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India Rules.

Duration

Up to 30 September 2026 or till completion of the project.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

  • M.Sc. (Agriculture)
  • M.Sc. (Horticulture)
  • M.Sc. (Forestry)
  • M.Sc. in other Basic Sciences

OR

Candidates having a postgraduate degree in Basic Sciences with:

  • Note:- Master degree in relevant subject with 4 years/5 years of Bachelor's degree 
  • a) Candidates having Post graduate degree in Basic Science with 3 years Bachelor's degree and 2 years Master's degreе should have NET qualifications and 2 years of research experience 
  • b) Claim of research Experience should be backed with necessary certificates. 

Research experience must be supported by valid certificates.

Desirable Qualification

Preference will be given to candidates possessing:

  • Minimum two years experience in ICAR/KVK/NICRA projects.
  • Knowledge of computers.
  • Statistical analysis skills.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

  • MVSc in Pathology
  • Microbiology
  • Biotechnology
  • Parasitology
  • Public Health

OR

  • M.Sc. in Biotechnology
  • Microbiology

Candidates with a minimum of one year research experience will be preferred.

Desirable Qualification

Preference will be given to applicants possessing:

  • PhD in Biotechnology or Microbiology.
  • Molecular biology techniques.
  • Genomic data analysis.

Duties

Selected candidates will undertake:

  • Livestock sample collection.
  • Laboratory analysis.

4. Young Professional-I

Desirable Qualification

Preference will be given to candidates possessing:

  • M.Sc. in Biotechnology or Microbiology.
  • Minimum one year research experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Molecular biology laboratory techniques.
  • Genomic data analysis.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will assist in:

  • Sample collection.
  • Laboratory testing.
  • Microbiological analysis.
  • Molecular biology work.
  • Livestock data collection.
  • Documentation and reporting.

Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of two stages.

Eligible candidates will first appear for a written test.

Candidates qualifying in the written examination will be called for the interview on the same day.

The interview will be conducted in a structured format after completion of the written examination.

Written Test Date

The written examination is scheduled for:

04 August 2026

Candidates shortlisted in the written examination will immediately appear for the interview during the afternoon session.

Important Terms and Conditions

These appointments are purely temporary and project-based.

The appointments do not confer any right to claim regular employment in ICAR-CCARI or any other ICAR institute.

No TA or DA will be provided for attending the written examination or interview.

Selected candidates will be engaged on a full-time basis and will not be permitted to undertake any other employment during the project period.

Candidates whose near/distant relative(s) is an employee of the ICAR-CCARI, have to declare it and communicate to this Office as per the format attached. Such declaration must reach the undersigned by post or through e-mail at director.ccari@gmail.com relative(s) working at ICAR-CCARI or other ICAR Institutes will also furnish a declaration (format attached) on the date of the interview

The Director, ICAR-CCARI reserves the right to modify, cancel, fill or not fill any advertised vacancy without assigning reasons.

Candidates may resign by giving one month's notice. Similarly, the institute may terminate services as per project requirements and applicable conditions.
