Eligibility Requirements for Sr. No 1 Assistant Professor
To qualify for the position, candidates must fulfill the requirements under either Category A or Category B, in addition to meeting the mandatory language criteria.
Category A: Indian or Accredited Foreign Qualifications
Candidates applying under this category must meet two primary conditions:
1. Educational Background
Master's Degree: A minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in the relevant, concerned, or allied discipline.

2. Standardized Test/Exemption
Default Requirement: Must have cleared the NET (conducted by UGC or CSIR) or an accredited SET.
Ph.D. Exemption: NET/SET is waived if the candidate holds a Ph.D. degree from a National Institute of Importance or one awarded under the UGC Regulations of 2009 or 2016.
Pre-2009 Ph.D. Exemption: Candidates registered for a Ph.D. before July 11, 2009, are also exempt from NET/SET, provided the University Registrar or Dean (Academic Affairs) certifies that:
- The degree was earned through regular mode.
- The thesis was evaluated by at least two external examiners.
- An open viva voce was held.
- The candidate published two research papers from their Ph.D. work (with at least one in a refereed journal).
The candidate presented at least two papers at conferences or seminars sponsored by agencies like the UGC, ICSSR, or CSIR.
Discipline Exemption: NET/SET is not required for subjects where these tests are simply not conducted.
Desirable Asset: Research publications in peer-reviewed journals approved by Goa University or listed by the UGC are highly preferred.
Category B: Elite Foreign University Qualifications
Alternatively, a candidate qualifies if they hold a Ph.D. from a foreign university that has placed in the top 500 of any of the following global rankings at any point:

Language Requirements
Mandatory: Knowledge of Konkani is strictly required.
Desirable: Knowledge of Marathi is preferred but not compulsory.
For post Sr.no:- (2-6)
(1) Good Academic record with at least 55% of marks or equivalent grade at Master’s Degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.
(2) National Eligibility Test (NET)/State Level Eligibility Test (SET) shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Assistant Professor: Provided, however, that candidates, who are or have been awarded Ph.D. Degree in compliance of the “University Grants Commission (minimum standards and procedure for award of Ph.D. Degree), Regulation 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/ /SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Colleges”
(3) Knowledge of Konkani.
Note: In case of non-availability of suitable candidate with the knowledge of Konkani, this requirement can be relaxed.
(4) Above posts are for the academic year 2025-26 (one year only).

Desirable:
(I) Ph.D. or M. Phil. in the relevant subject.
(ii) Knowledge of Marathi.

1. Master in Psychology/Human Development/ Master of Arts (Wellness
Counselling) from a Recognised University/ Institution with 55% marks in aggregate.
2. Knowledge of Konkani.

(II). Minimum experience of 1 year working as a Counsellor.
(III). Knowledge of Marathi.
