The Government of Goa, Department of Handicrafts, Textile & Coir, has released an official advertisement inviting applications from eligible candidates for undergoing diploma training under the Kaushal Yojana scheme.
This initiative is aimed at providing skill-based training and enhancing employment opportunities for Goan youth in handicrafts, textile, and related sectors.
📌 Training Details
Applications are invited for undergoing three-year diploma training at:
Indian Institute of Handloom Technology (IIHT), Salem, Tamil Nadu
👉 One seat is reserved for Goa State
Training is also available in various trades such as:
Handloom Weaving
Coir
Wood
Pottery
Bamboo
Metal Crafts
Stone Carving
Other similar trades in institutions functioning outside Goa
🎓 Educational Qualification
First Year Diploma:
10th standard passed or equivalent
English must be a subject
Direct Second Year (DHTT):
12th with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics
OR12th in vocational textile stream
OR10th + 2 years ITI
OR12th + 2 years ITI
OR10th + 2 years vocational textile stream + bridge course
🎯 Age Limit (as on 01/07/2026)
1st Year Diploma:
SC/ST: 25 years
Others: 23 years
Direct Second Year:
SC/ST: 27 years
Others: 25 years
📍 Residential Requirement
Candidate must be resident of Goa for at least 15 years
💰 Sponsorship
Under the Kaushal Yojana Scheme, the Department will sponsor:
Tuition Fees
Hostel & Boarding Charges
Books
Miscellaneous Expenses
👉 Approximate cost: ₹3,00,000 per annum
