Goa Vidyaprasarak Mandal’s Dr. Dada Vaidya College of Education Announces Faculty and Counsellor Recruitment for B.Ed. Programme 2026–27
Goa Vidyaprasarak Mandal’s Dr. Dada Vaidya College of
Education, located at Shri. Sitaram Kerkar Vidya Sankul, Farmagudi, Ponda, Goa,
has invited applications from eligible Indian citizens for various teaching and
counselling positions for its Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme for the
academic year 2026–27. The institution is permanently affiliated with Goa
University.
The recruitment drive aims to fill positions in the
Education discipline, Performing Arts, and Counselling services. Candidates
possessing the prescribed qualifications and experience are encouraged to apply
within the stipulated period.
Vacancies Available
The college has advertised five positions for the academic
year 2026–27. These include Assistant Professor posts in different
specializations and one position of College Counsellor.
The first position is Assistant Professor in Education (Core
Papers). One vacancy is available on a lecture basis and the appointment will
be on a lien vacancy up to 31 August 2026. This post falls under the Unreserved
category.
The second position is Assistant Professor in Education
specializing in Methodology of Teaching Hindi. One vacancy is available on a
contract basis for the academic year 2026–27 and belongs to the Unreserved
category.
The third position is Assistant Professor in Education
specializing in Methodology of Teaching History. One vacancy is available on a
contract basis for the academic year 2026–27 and also falls under the
Unreserved category.
The fourth position is Assistant Professor in Performing
Arts. One vacancy is available on a contract basis and is reserved for
candidates belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category.
The fifth position is College Counsellor. One vacancy is
available on a contract basis under the Unreserved category.
The institution has specifically stated that knowledge of
Konkani is essential for all advertised positions, while knowledge of Marathi
is considered desirable.
Eligibility Criteria for Assistant Professor in Education
(Core Papers)
Candidates applying for the Assistant Professor in Education
(Core Papers) position must satisfy either of the following qualification
pathways.
Under the first pathway, applicants should possess
i) A Master’s Degree in Science/Humanities/Arts with 50% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
ii) M.Ed. with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) for lecturers conducted by the UGC or similar test accredited by the UGC.
iii) However, candidates, who are or have been awarded a Ph.D Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D Degree) Regulations, 2009, as incorporated in the relevant Goa University ordinance shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET. OR (B)
(i) M.A. in Education with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading System is followed).
ii) B.Ed. with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed), and must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) for lecturers conducted by the UGC or similar test accredited by the UGC.
iii) However, candidates who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D Degree) Regulations, 2009, as incorporated in the relevant Goa University Ordinance shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET.
Eligibility Criteria for Assistant Professor in Education
(Methodology of Teaching Hindi and History)
Applicants seeking appointment as Assistant Professor in
Education for Methodology of Teaching Hindi or Methodology of Teaching History
must possess i)
ii)M.Ed. Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) for lecturers conducted by the UGC or similar test accredited by the UGC
iii)Candidates who possess a Ph.D. degree awarded in accordance with the UGC Regulations, 2009, as incorporated in the relevant Goa University Ordinance, will be exempt from the requirement of NET, SLET, or SET.
iv)The Hindi methodology post is being filled against a deputation vacancy for the academic year 2026–27, while the History methodology post is purely on a contract basis for the same academic year.
Eligibility Criteria for Assistant Professor in
Performing Arts
For the Performing Arts position, candidates must possess (A)
(i) A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade in a point Scale wherever the grading system is followed) in the relevant subject or an equivalent degree from an Indian / Foreign university. (Music/Dance/Theatre Arts with 55% for Performing Arts)
a) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SET or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be.
b) Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11,2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Byelaws/Statutes of the Institutions awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/College/Institutions subject to the fulfilment of the following conditions:-
a) Ph.D. degree has been awarded to the candidate in a regular mode
b) The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate had been conducted;
d) The candidate has published two research papers from his/ her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal;
e) The candidate has presented at least two research papers based on his/her Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars supported/funded/sponsored by the UGC/AICTE/ICSSR or any other similar agency.
Note 1: The fulfilment of these conditions is to be certified by the Vice Chancellor or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.
Note 2: The clearance of NET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC (like SET) OR
B) A traditional or a professional artist with highly commendable professional achievement in the subject concerned having a Bachelor’s degree, who has:
i) Studied under a noted /reputed traditional Master(s)/Artist(s)
ii) Has been ’A’ grade artist of AIR/Doordarshan;
iii) Has the ability to explain, with logical reasoning the subject concerned; and
iv) Has adequate knowledge to teach theory with illustrations in the discipline concerned.
Eligibility Criteria for College Counsellor
Applicants for the College Counsellor position must possess
a Master’s degree in Psychology or Human Development from a recognized
university or institution with at least 55 percent marks in aggregate.
Knowledge of Konkani is compulsory, while knowledge of
Marathi is desirable. Candidates must have specialization in Clinical
Psychology or Counselling Psychology and should possess a minimum of one year
of experience working as a counsellor.
The position carries a consolidated remuneration of Rs.
40,000 per month. The age of the candidate should not exceed 60 years during
the appointment period.

Candidates are required to attach copies of mark sheets from
the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination onwards, educational
qualification certificates, experience certificates, birth certificate, valid
residence certificate, and OBC certificate wherever applicable.
Applicants already employed in any institution must submit
their applications through the proper channel. Any break in service should be
clearly accounted for in the application.
Those applying for more than one post must submit separate
applications for each position and clearly mention the serial number of the
post applied for.
Applications, complete in all respects, should reach the
undersigned within 15 days from the date of publication of the advertisement.
Incomplete applications or applications received after the prescribed deadline
will be rejected, and no further communication will be entertained.
Important Conditions
The college has clarified that all advertised posts are
subject to obtaining necessary NOC and approval from the Directorate of Higher
Education, Government of Goa, and Goa University. The appointments are also
subject to workload requirements as per institutional and regulatory norms.
Pay, allowances, and service conditions for teaching
positions will be governed by the regulations prescribed by the UGC, NCTE, Goa
University, and the Government of Goa.
