Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Dhempe College of Arts & Science, Miramar-Panaji-Goa (Self-Financing Programme) for the academic year 2025–2026. Mandatory requirement:

• 15 years Valid Residence Certificate issued by Government of Goa.

•  Knowledge of Konkani is essential and knowledge of Marathi is desirable.

Essential qualifications for Assistant professor on Lectures Basis: As per Statute SA-19(vii) (1) (d)

(i) A Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. 

(ii) The candidate should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SEТ. 

(iii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be or have been awarded Ph.D. degree from National Institutes of Importance are exempted from NET/SEТ. 

(iv) Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Byelaws/Statutes of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in University subject to the fulfilments of the following conditions:- 

k)The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode; 

l)The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners; 

m)An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate thus been conducted;

n)The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal;

o)The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC/ICSSR/ CSIR or any similar agency. 

• The fulfilment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.

OR

    J. The Ph.D. degree has been obtained from a foreign

   university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World

   University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: 

 

    v. Quacqarelli Symonds (QS) 

   vi.The Times Higher Education (THE)

OR

  ix. The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the

  Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).

• If candidates fulfilling essential qualifications (ii) and (iii) are not available, then candidates fulfilling essential qualifications (i) may be considered for appointment on Contract/lecture Basis.

General Instructions: 

• Only candidates having prescribed qualification and meet the essential conditions will be allowed to appear for the interview.

• Candidates should register their names in the office of Department of Biotechnology, DCT's Dhempe College of Arts & Science half an hour before the scheduled time of the interview.

• Application on plain paper addressed to The Principal, DCT's Dhempe College of Arts & Science, bio-data with self-attested copies of Statement of Marks and passing certificate of all examinations from SSCE onwards, work experience (if any) valid caste certificate, valid residence certificate, birth certificate and certificates pertaining to educational qualification shall be submitted at the time of registration.

• Candidate shall produce the original certificates for verification during the interview.

• Candidates appearing for interview will have to present themselves at their own expenses. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates.

• Candidates selected on Contract Basis/Lecture Basis will be considered for appointment for academic year 2025-2026 only, purely on Lecture Basis and the candidate so appointed will have no legal right or claim on the said post during next academic year.

• Pay scale and service conditions shall be as laid down by Goa University/Government of Goa. All other requirements prescribed by UGC/Goa University and Government of Goa shall be applicable.

• Candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST/EWS category should enclose Caste Certificate/relevant certificate from competent authorities of Government of Goa. The necessary certificates should be enclosed along with the application. The advertisement is meant only for selection of candidates. The filling up of vacancies will strictly depend on the workload as per the statutes and approval from Goa University. 

• The Principal reserves the right to accept or reject any or all the applications without assigning any reason thereof.
